Jackson Fire Rescue Burn Ordinance Quick Reference Sheet
Burn Piles larger than 10x10x5 (500 cubic ft) requires a Fire Department Burn Permit.
Natural vegetation and/or UNTREATED lumber may be burned only. (Can not contain stained, painted, or glued material).
No trash allowed to be burned.
No burning allowed in City Streets and/or roadway.
Burning hours are from 8 AM – 8 Pm. Must be watched at all times until burning completed.
Burning cannot be done within 50 ft of any ignitable material.
If smoke is causing a hazard to vehicle traffic and deemed to be causing a public health hazard, JFR has the authority to extinguish the fire.
