  2. Jackson City Park

    The City Park, established in 1933, is the oldest in our park system. Hubble Creek winds through the park with a walk over bridge. Totaling 88 acres, the City Park is busy with many year-round activities, Entrances are located from the streets of North High Street (US Highway 61), West Independence Street, West Park Street, and North Union Avenue. Listed below are park features: 1-½ mile recreational trail, 7 playground areas, 2 lighted outdoor basketball courts, municipal pool, 6 lighted tennis courts, 1 sand volleyball court, 6 pavilions, 5 restrooms, 1 skateboard pad / 4 modular jumps, 3-acre lake, 3 horse shoe pits, 6 baseball / softball fields, and 1 flower garden.

    Litz Park

    Litz Park, opened in 1979, is 40 acres with Goose Creek running through the park. To reach Litz Park, follow North Shawnee Boulevard, then turn onto Vera Wagner Drive. Listed below are park features: 2-acre lake, 1 baseball field, 1 pavilion, ½ mile walking trail, 8 lighted pickleball courts, 18-tee disc golf course, and 1 restroom.

    Soccer Park

    The Soccer Park opened in 2005 with 35 acres and serves over 1,000 youth each year. To reach the park, drive south on South Farmington Road (Route PP), 1.5 miles south of West Jackson Boulevard, turn onto either Industrial Drive or Cotton Meyer Drive, then follow driveway into park. The Iron Mountain Railroad tracks run along the east side of park. Listed below are park features: 17 playing fields, and 1 concession stand / restroom.

    Brookside Park

    Brookside Park, located on Brookview Street, was dedicated in 1994. Totaling 42 acres, the park is host to several annual ceremonies honoring our war veterans. To reach the park, turn off of North High Street (US Highway 61) onto Sunset Drive, right onto Brookview Street, then follow to Veterans Memorial Drive into the park. The Veterans Memorial has over 2,000 names from veterans of all wars. Listed below are park features: Memorial to Veterans of All Wars, 2 lighted baseball fields, 1 unlit baseball field, 1 pavilion, 1 playground, and 1 restroom.

    Football Park

    The Football Park opened in 2005, totals 20 acres, and is home to our future Jackson Indians. To reach the park, drive west on West Jackson Boulevard, turn into park entrance, just west of Farmington Road (Highway PP) intersection. Listed below are park features: 5 total youth playing fields, 1 practice field, and 1 restroom.

    Recreation Trail System

    The Jackson Parks and Recreation Department maintains a trail system that connects different areas around the city. The following guidelines are set for trail use and serve to make the trails as safe as possible for all users' enjoyment.

    Use trail for intended purposes only: walking, running, biking, and rollerblading.

    NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES!

    Stay to the right except to pass.

    Yield to oncoming traffic; use push button warning signs where available.

    If trail is under water, DO NOT CROSS!

    Please keep trail clean; use trash receptacles.

    All pets must be on a leash and PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET.
