Public Hearing for the Proposed 2022 Tax Rates
A
public hearing will be held at 6:00 P.M., August 15, 2022, at City Hall, 101
Court Street, Jackson, Missouri, at which time citizens may be heard on the
property tax rates proposed to be set by the City of Jackson, Missouri. The tax rates shall be set to produce the
revenues which the budget for the fiscal year shows to be required from the
property tax. Each tax rate is
determined by dividing the amount of revenue required by current assessed
valuation. The result is multiplied by
100 so the tax rate will be expressed in cents per $100 valuation. The following calculations are based on
present data (prior to Board of Equalization adjustments) and may be adjusted
as more current data is received.
