Road Work on East Main Street Begins on Monday, April 25
A planned
road closure on East Main Street will begin on Monday, April 25. This road closure will be a single lane from
the intersection of Ohio St. going east to the intersection of Neal St. Eastbound traffic on E. Main St. must utilize
the posted detour route. Westbound
traffic on E. Main St. will be open.
Contracted
construction crews will be working to install upgraded water distribution mains
and new service line connections as part of the sixth phase of the Water System
Facility Plan Implementation Project. Bonding
capacity for this project was approved by voters in 2014 to help increase the
flow of water to fire hydrants.
Local
traffic and residents within the construction area will still have access to
their homes during this time. Businesses
within this area will still be accessible by customers during the road closure.
With weather pending, these detours are
anticipated to last approximately two months. The detour routes will be marked and citizens
are urged to be aware of and follow all posted signage. Motorists are also encouraged to avoid this
area of construction when possible.
City officials
are continuing to work hard to improve water utilities for the citizens of
Jackson and we apologize for any inconveniences that may occur during this
construction. If you have any questions
