  2. Notice to Bid - Power Plant Maintenance Building Repair Project

    Separate sealed bids for the Power Plant Maintenance Building Repair Project to serve the City of Jackson will be received in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 101 Court Street, Jackson, Missouri, until 10:00 AM (prevailing local time), on Thursday, September 12, 2019, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

    The envelope containing the bids must be sealed, addressed, and designated as bids for the “Power Plant Maintenance Building Repair Project; Attn: City Clerk.” 

    Bid proposals shall be prepared by the bidders and submitted on the bid sheet.  Bid proposals shall be made in accordance with the General Specifications, Bid Documents, and the City’s standard contract which are on file and available for examination in the office of the City Clerk or online at www.jacksonmo.org and are made part of this notice as though fully set forth herein. 

    A pre-bid conference will not be held, but prospective bidders are encouraged to visit the Power Plant located at 420 Florence Street before submitting a bid. 

    No bidder may withdraw its bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. 

    The City may issue addenda as may be necessary in the best interest of the public and the City of Jackson. 

    Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109, and E.O. 11246. 

    Bidders who agree to provide work under this contract must provide a ten-hour OSHA construction safety program or other similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri, in accordance with Sec. 292.675 RSMo. 

    The City of Jackson hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation, and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration of award.

    The City of Jackson reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities in the bids.  If a contract award is made, it will be made to the lowest and best, responsive, responsible bidder.
