  2. Notice to Bid - North High Street Electric Line Relocation Project

    Separate sealed bids for North High Street Electric Distribution Line Relocation Project (located at the intersection of West Independence Street and US Highway 61) to serve the City of Jackson will be received in the office of the City Administrator at City Hall, 101 Court Street, Jackson, Missouri 63755, until 2:00 P.M. (prevailing local time), on Monday, December 10, 2018, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

    Bids shall be prepared by the Contractor and submitted on a proposal form.  The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, addressed, and designated as bids for the “North High Street Electric Distribution Line Relocation Project; Attn: City Administrator.”

    In general, the project consists of relocating the existing 15kV overhead 336 ACSR 3 phase line just north and west of West Independence Street and North High Street (US Highway 61) for the addition of a new turn lane on the west side of North High Street.  Work also includes the replacement of the old main line poles north of the proposed turn lane to Sunset Drive.  The project length is approximately 0.35 miles.  The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment, with the exception of the poles.  The contractor will be working within the MoDOT public right-of-way and will require permits.

    The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids.   No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the bid opening.  The City may issue addenda as may be necessary in the best interest of the public and the City of Jackson.  If a contract award is made, it will be made to the lowest and best, responsive, responsible Bidder.

    The City hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938.  The Work Hours Act of 1962 also applies. Bidders who agree to provide work under this Contract must provide a ten-hour OSHA construction safety program or other similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri, in accordance with Sec.292.675 RSMo.

    The City of Jackson hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
